Bar Renovation
Barnsley
Comprehensive strip-out, refurbishment, and fit-out of an existing commercial venue, transforming the internal layout to create a modern and visually striking entertainment space.
Overview
The works commenced with the complete removal of the existing floor finishes, kitchen facilities, partition walls, handrails, and redundant fixtures. All waste materials generated during the strip-out were removed from site and disposed of responsibly, preparing the premises for the new installation.
A new internal layout was then constructed, including bespoke stage and DJ booth, raised flooring, new stud partition walls, and purpose-built toilet cubicles within the male facilities. Additional structural alterations included forming new door openings, creating feature archways around the bar, constructing internal steps, and installing a disabled access ramp to ensure compliance and accessibility.
Extensive joinery works included the installation of an oak worktop to the newly constructed bar, application of a tiled bar frontage, tongue-and-groove panelling around the stage area, studding of the entrance walkway, and the installation of engineered oak flooring throughout. Existing oak beams were prepared and plastered to complement the overall interior finish.
Feature finishes formed a key element of the refurbishment, with brick slip tiling installed to selected feature walls and archways, floor and wall tiling completed around the bar and DJ booth area, and decorative brick-a-brac incorporated to enhance the venue’s character.
Mechanical and plumbing works included the installation of new waste and soil pipework serving the newly constructed male toilet cubicles, cold water feeds to WC facilities, and new hot and cold-water supplies to vanity units.
The project concluded with the installation of suspended ceilings and reboarding works within the gents’ toilets, followed by a full programme of internal redecoration, including painting and wallpapering throughout the newly refurbished bar and customer areas, delivering a high-quality finish ready for occupation and use.
